Leitis in Waiting comes to Aotearoa
12 June 2018In late May, the Documentary Edge Film Festival was held in Wellington and Auckland. Among the many compelling films presented was Leitis in Waiting, the story of a group of transgender women fighting a rising tide of religious fundamentalism in the Kingdom of Tonga.

Folktale stage adaptations begin
21 May 2018Over the upcoming weeks, Nanzikambe Arts will present staged adaptations of five traditional folktales in Blantyre District. A previous project recorded Malawian folktales, which are reflective of the rich cultural heritage of Malawi. As a way of disseminating these folktales, Nanzikambe Arts is now adapting and dramatising the folktales on stage.

Rei Foundation sponsors SEAPAAVA conference
19 March 2018Rei Foundation has offered sponsorship to the 22nd SEAPAVAA Conference in April 2018, for the third year in a row. The theme of the 2018 conference, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, is AV Archiving Beyond Boundaries. Rei Foundation sponsorship will help support competent professionals with lesser financial resources to participate.

FAFSWAG is an award winning, LGBTIQ+ Pasifika arts collective based in South Auckland who use dance, contemporary art, theatre and storytelling to express queer identities and expand the variety of stories and people we see in the arts and on screen.

Khmer Rouge history app launched in Phnom Penh
11 August 2017The Rei Foundation team attended the launch of the Khmer Rouge History app in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 25 July 2017. Containing accurate and standardised information validated by Cambodian experts, this application aims to educate youth on Khmer Rouge history, raise awareness about justice, human right and peace, and foster intergenerational dialogue.
