Winners of inaugural Rangatahi Film Fund announced
13 October 2019$80,000 of funding has been awarded to four filmmakers for the production of youth focused documentaries. The Film Fund was set up to provide grants to filmmakers and support the production of short films for audiences 11–17 years of age, to give them an opportunity to watch and discuss topics that are particularly relevant and important to them.

Objects, Memory, and Peacebuilding by Dody Wibowo
8 October 2019There is no single truth about the past. However, as Rei Foundation scholar Dody Wibowo argues, we are at times exposed to and asked to believe in a single definitive version of history. Wibowo explores the complex construction of his own understanding of traumatic historic events, an understanding primarily developed through intense experiences at government-run museums, first in his home country Indonesia, and then in Cambodia. Using the lens of peace education, he asks us to consider the motives and strategies of such museums, and suggests a way forward through museum practices that contribute to peacebuilding.

Kim Hak's Alive opens at Bophana Center
7 August 2019Cambodian photographer Kim Hak’s exhibition Alive has opened at Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This was a second presentation of the work, which was first shown at Objectspace in Auckland earlier this year.

Leitis in Waiting comes to Aotearoa
